The Green Team relies on volunteers to lead our day and residential projects. Volunteers usually have some experience of conservation work or youth work but the most important quality we look for is an ability to connect with young people and share your love of the outdoors.
Without the support of these leaders, the work of the Green Team would not be possible, and we are very grateful for your continued support!
If you would be interested in working with young people through a range of environmental activities and could spare 5 or 6 days a year then please get in touch. You can download an application form on the How To Apply page. Experience of running conservation tasks and working with young people is useful but not essential. Training is given in first aid, leadership, conservation skills, minibus driving, environmental games and activities and the John Muir Award amongst others. The projects are free, and we provide core training at no cost whenever possible. Our Volunteer Leaders are supported throughout their time with the Green Team by our Volunteer Co-ordinator to ensure training needs are met and our volunteer leaders progress at a pace which suits them.
