The Green Team travelled to Penicuik house today to widen paths and burn off bushes that were getting out of hand. First we walked down to one of the paths where a good portion of it was covered by dirt that had gathered over time. As a group we dug out the extra soil from the side of the hill which widened it a great deal and made it look much better and cleaner.

Afterwards we walked further down the hill to an area which was partly overrun by non-native plants/bushes that were spreading, there we used loppers and saws to separate branches and make them smaller for the fire. Then we had lunch before setting the fire alight and putting the flora on it to burn.

Afterwards we played a game in the nearby forest for a while before returning to finish the job.

We then got a tour of Penicuik house from the ranger that was with us for the whole day before finishing up and returning home.
