We went to Muiravonside country park and repaired a dry stone wall. The wall had been knocked over or had fallen over so it needed to be rebuilt.
We took it down until it was solid and built it back up using larger rocks on either side and filling in the middle with smaller rocks called heartings. One section had to have a gap left in it to stop walkers from knocking the wall down and to promote them to walk through the gap.
I really enjoyed building the wall as there was a great sense of achievement at the end when the wall was built.
