We all gathered at the high school and got ready to go. After arriving we played a game to (hopefully) learn everybody’s names. We were then given the first task: We looked upon a slope filled with overgrown plants. After the few hours we had spent on it we had done so much the slope was almost unrecognisable, I and the rest of the team felt very proud.
For the second half, we did a range of activities such as fire making, pond dipping and some other conservation work around the Springfield mill park. This was one of my favorite projects as I had made new friendships, done effective work, learned valuable skills and it was a very nice environment. By the end, the ranger was very impressed and all the members agreed on the day it was time well spent.
