We travelled down to Eddleston water to help reduce the risk of flooding in the near future to Peebles as previous disasters occurred. We planted trees in pairs with stakes that we collected from the manager on site. We worked up and down the hill panting tree after tree in the morning and it was hard work! Some of us were interviewed for a film that was going to be made to encourage young people to join in the Green Volunteers. After a relaxing and fun lunch we headed back up the hill to plant more trees and decrease the risk of flooding into Peebles.
At the end of the day we had a review on what we liked and what we found challenging. In conclusion, I felt that I helped the environment around the area as it will help as a habitat for animals and we finished off with a fun game.
