Myself, Caitlin and Anna, St Augustine’s High School, attended an overnight residential with the Green Angels team. Although the weather was awful, we had a great time exploring the surrounding area and managed to collect wood for a campfire. We later built a campfire with the wood we had found and roasted marshmallows round it, YUM! We stayed at the community hall and after all that fresh air we managed to get to sleep no bother! A great time had by all!
This May the Green Angels headed out for its first ever weekend Residential to Binning Wood and Barnside Farm in the Scottish Borders. The girls tackled the forest of Rhododenron at Binning Wood and managed to keep going despite the continuous rain all day . The evening was spent round the camp fire at the river with stone stacking and skimming competitions.
Sunday saw the Group off to help at Barnside Farm and the sun came out as the group helped with hedge planting. The main event of the day was helping to feed the orphan lambs. Huge thanks go to the leader team on this residential who really made it a special time for the girls and to Andrea and Charlie Walker at Barnside Farm who’s enthusiasm fuelled the whole group experience.
