We went to Hopetoun House to do some rhododendron bashing, which is where we sawed and chopped rhododendron bushes with loppers and put them on bonfires. We clear the rhododendrons to make more space for natural wild plants as the rhododendrons are an invasive species and swamp all the other species. We also had time to visit the grounds and see the red deer.

On the day I learnt how to use a flint and steel to make a spark to light a fire and better techniques to cut the rhododendrons. I really enjoyed the day being outside, and spending time in the nice weather.
