For green team we went to Craigmiller castle park. We were introduced to the area by a ranger. She explained that our task was to clear the pathway that had been overgrown so it could be used again, to trim trees and pick up litter.
First we picked up the litter with litter pickers and then we began to clear the path. I learned how to use the shovel to scrape the grass off the path. I enjoyed clearing the path because it was good to see how much progress we made. We were told how to identify different trees and we collected pine cones and different things from the trees to use in a game. To make hot drinks we learned how to boil the water and use twigs and sticks for the fire in a kelly kettle. At the end of the day we played a game about our environment.
